Casualty Friday is our new favorite podcast from FANGORIA, featuring in-depth conversations about life in the horror business from three genre staples; Felissa Rose, Kane Hodder, and Tiffany Shepis. With a countless number of credits between them, the trio has collectively endured every disaster imaginable on a film set and they talk through them all in gory detail!
Each episode has a specific focus and this week’s edition is on stunts & special effects. We hear a number of bonkers tales about everything from set injuries and stunts gone wrong to their favorite makeup effects (like when Felissa played a male cop in Return to Sleepaway Camp).
The trio also all weigh in on the practical vs CGI debate and we get plenty of insider stories about the stunt industry, the danger of “over-amped actors,” the science of squibs and near-death experiences involving un-dulled prop machetes! Kane Hodder also reveals that he was a stunt coordinator on… wait for it… Who’s the Boss!
What this episode conveys most of all is the fierce work ethic of each host; Felissa Rose, for instance, claims that if she is not bruised and battered by the end of a stunt sequence, she hasn’t done her job. All in all, the three hosts are living proof that working in horror ain’t for sissies!
