Original DOOM Trilogy Released On PS4, Xbox One, And Switch
If you never played the original Doom trilogy, today’s your lucky day, because all three classic games have been released on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One. That’s right, all three classic shooters can now be yours, with Doom and Doom II being priced at a very modest $4.99, while Doom 3 is priced at a slightly more expensive but still very reasonable $9.99, with both the Resurrection of Evil and The Lost Missions expansion packs included. Interestingly, this also marks the first-ever time Doom 3 has been available on a Nintendo system.
This announcement was made at QuakeCon, and you can watch the very gruesome announcement trailer below. The visuals in these games may be dated, but they’re still as brutal as they come. As you can see from the trailer, the first two games will include split-screen player vs. player multiplayer, which still looks like a ton of fun despite the dated visuals.
If you’re a more casual gamer, you might also be pleased to know that Doom and Doom II are also now available on iOS and Android, and they are each priced at $4.99. Put simply, even if console gaming isn’t really your thing, there’s still no excuse not to experience these two great games on your mobile device.
