Wolverine Faces Off Against Blade In New Comic

Two of Marvel’s most fearsome warriors face off in a new forty-page comic called Wolverine Vs. Blade, which is now available at all good comic stores. The gore-soaked one-shot sees the clawed mutant and the Daywalker teaming up to hunt down a new clan of bloodthirsty vampires, and as if that wasn’t enough, an ancient prophecy eventually leads the two to face off against one another. The book also features a brief appearance from Doctor Strange, because no tale of the supernatural set in the Marvel Universe would be complete without the Sorcerer Supreme.

Wolverine Vs. Blade was scripted by Marc Guggenheim, a writer who has had considerable experience with both characters, while the gruesome artwork was provided by Dave Wilkins of Star Wars fame. And we aren’t exaggerating about the graphic nature of the art, as this could easily be one of Marvel’s goriest comics of 2019.

With the news that Mahershala Ali is set to play Blade in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, along with the fact that Disney’s acquisition of Fox will lead to the X-Men also appearing in the MCU, it’s a possibility that we might actually be getting to see Blade and Wolverine teaming up on the big screen. We’d love that to happen, but as neither character will appear in the MCU for a number of years, this comic is the closest we’re going to get for the time being.
