But the stars overhead weren’t the only ones to behold. Mick Garris, for example, was on hand to record a live episode of his Post Morten Podcast!
The Shockwaves Podcast crew was also in the house, er, on the rooftop, serving as group emcees–all decked out in camp counselor garb. Horror icon Lin Shaye was on hand to get the crowd riled up!
We watched The Burning, Sleepaway Camp, and Evil Dead 2, all shown drive-in style. Cool glowing headphones were distributed in order to drown out the sounds of traffic and helicopters. (Typical weekend in Los Angeles!)
The Shockwaves team held raffles and trivia competitions during breaks.
The truly intrepid also had an opportunity to experience The Alone Experience a “site-specific, fully immersive and existential experience”. Also present: Gun Media set up a tent for campers to go head-to-head on Friday The 13th: The Game on Nintendo Switch.
Sleepaway Camp‘s Katherine Kamhi was in attendance, and the film’s star, Felissa Rose, greeted everyone with a pre-recorded video. Casualty Friday Podcast co-host Tiffany Shepis-Tretta also helped work the crowns into a frenzy! I had the pleasure of crossing paths with The Homicidal Homemaker!
Libations flowed and delectables were prepared by Umami Burger.
Those of us who were lucky enough to attend Camp Fangoria will never forget this deliciously terrifying gathering. Those who missed it can only hope that Fangoria and Arena Cineloung will collaborate again on a sequel–or a franchise!
