Stephen King is Re-Writing the Ending of THE STAND for CBS All Access!
You may think you know The Stand, but the latest adaptation of Stephen King’s apocalyptic opus with have an all-new ending–written by the undisputed Master of Horror himself! Deadline broke the news:
CBS All Access’ upcoming limited series The Stand will bring something that will have fans buzzing — a new ending crafted by King. The streamer announced at TCA Thursday that King will write the last episode of the nine-episode series, providing a new coda that won’t be found in the book.
“For fans of the book who have wondered what became of the survivors of the stand, this episode will contain a story that takes us beyond the book to answer those questions,” CBS All Access EVP Julie McNamara said. “A continuation to The Stand, I can’t wait to share that with the world.”

It’s been almost six months since we first got wind of a new adaptation of Stephen King’s The Stand, in the works at CBS All. THR previously reported:
Stephen King’s post-apocalyptic epic best-seller The Stand is coming to CBS All Access. Following a prolonged deal making process, the SVOD platform on Wednesday announced a straight-to-series, 10-episode order for a drama based on the novel of the same name. Josh Boone, who was previously attached to write a feature film based on the epic novel, is set to pen the script alongside Ben Cavell (Justified, Homeland). The Stand has long been a passion project for [Josh] Boone.
