Here’s some news almost certain to brighten a horror fan’s day–especially those with a soft spot for 1997’s Event Horizon. There’s a TV series in the works! Variety broke the news:

Amazon and Paramount Television are developing a series adaptation of the 1997 sci-fi horror film Event Horizon, Variety has learned.

Adam Wingard is set to executive produce and direct the potential series. Wingard recently directed the film Godzilla vs. Kong, which is due out in theaters in March 2020. He has previously directed films like the recent Blair Witch reboot, The Guest, You’re Next, and the live-action version of Death Note. He also wrote and directed films like Autoerotic and What Fun We Were Having.

Synopsis:
When the Event Horizon, a spacecraft that vanished years earlier, suddenly reappears, a team is dispatched to investigate the ship. Accompanied by the Event Horizon’s creator, William Weir (Sam Neill), the crew of the Lewis and Clark, led by Capt. Miller (Laurence Fishburne), begins to explore the seemingly abandoned vessel. However, it soon becomes evident that something sinister resides in its corridors, and that the horrors that befell the Event Horizon’s previous journey are still present.
