JOKER Will Be Rated R for Bloody Violence, Disturbing Behavior, Language & Sex
Todd Phillips’ Joker may be based on a classic comic book villain, but the film isn’t for kids. Today brings word that Joker has landed an R rating from the MPAA for “Strong Bloody Violence, Disturbing Behavior, Language and Brief Sexual Images”.

Synopsis:
Failed comedian Arthur Fleck encounters violent thugs while wandering the streets of Gotham City dressed as a clown. Disregarded by society, Fleck begins a slow descent into madness as he transforms into the criminal mastermind known as the Joker.
Joker stars Joaquin Phoenix, Robert De Niro, and Zazie Beetz.
