Exclusive: Stephen Lang Has Read the Screenplay for DON’T BREATHE 2!
When an actor or filmmaker is giving interviews for a soon-to-be-released film, I’ve always felt it’s a bit disrespectful to ask about past or future projects. For example, if I were interviewing Mike Flanagan about Doctor Sleep, it would be kind of rude (not to mention a wasted opportunity) to grill him about Oculus or the as-yet-unmade Haunting of Hill House Season 2.
So when I had the opportunity to interview Stephen Lang this week at Fantastic Fest, the topic of conversation was VFW (a violent romp directed by Joe Begos) exclusively. Well, almost exclusively!
The fact that Don’t Breathe director Fede Alvarez has been teasing fans about the possibility of a sequel for months now, I couldn’t resist making one slight deviation–and I’m glad I did.
“I’ve read the screenplay [for Don’t Breathe 2],” Lang revealed to me exclusively, “and it’s really good!”
As for whether or not Jane Levy will be reprising the role of his Don’t Breathe counterpart, Rocky, well:
“That I can’t tell you.”
Can you blame a guy for asking?
Stay tuned for my full interview with Stephen Lang, Joe Begos, and additional cast member form VFW.
