This Day in Horror: Happy Birthday Katharine Isabelle
Born on this day in 1981: Katharine Isabelle.
She began acting under the name Katie Murray at age eight, with smaller roles in films and TV shows. She worked with her half-brother Joshua Murray on a crime thriller called Cold Front, and on an episode of The X-Files with her father, Graeme Murray (a production designer who won two Emmy awards for his work on the show).
A small role in Disturbing Behavior led to a starring role in Ginger Snaps, a movie which uses werewolfism to take a look at puberty. Isabelle returned for two Ginger Snaps sequels. She played the lead in American Mary, and had a recurring role in the television series Hannibal as one of Lecter’s patients, dealing with a murderously abusive twin brother.
