Next SCREAM Movie In The Works at Spyglass
Like many of you guys out there, my favorite fright flick of all-time is Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson’s meta-slasher masterpiece Scream with Neve Campbell and Drew Barrymore.
And today we’ve learned from our buddies over at Bloody Disgusting that a new entry is headed our way soon.
Gary Barber’s Spyglass Media Group will be behind the new film. We’re not sure at this time if it will continue the story from the first four movies or simply reboot the whole affair.
But it’s been noted Kevin Williamson is NOT writing the script.
Wes Craven re-invented and revitalized the slasher genre with his modern horror classic, which manages to be funny, clever and scary, with Craven happy to provide both tension and self-parody
It centers on a fright-masked knife maniac who stalks high-school students in middle-class suburbia. As the body count mounts – the victims aren’t always the ones you’d expect…
The original film was directed by Craven from a screenplay by Kevin Williamson. Cathy Konrad and Cary Woods produced the hit horror movie which featured music by Marco Beltrami, cinematography by Mark Irwin, and editing by Patrick Lussier.
It stars Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, David Arquette, Skeet Ulrich, Matthew Lillard, Rose McGowan, Jamie Kennedy, and Drew Barrymore, Joseph Whipp, W. Earl Brown, Liev Schreiber, and Roger L. Jackson as the voice of Ghostface.
Woods Entertainment was the production company behind the movie which was distributed by Dimension Films into a theater near your older siblings back on December 20, 1996.
