Eli Roth’s HISTORY OF HORROR Renewed For Second Season
Nice! Eli Roth’s History of Horror has been renewed for a six-episode second season, which like the first season, will also stream over on Shudder.
Roth tells Deadline: “I’m so thrilled to be continuing this historic series with AMC. In Season 1, we had the most incredible conversations with the top creators in the field who really helped fans around the world appreciate the horror genre in a new light….we look forward to going even deeper in Season 2, bringing out the A-listers to share their stories with everyone for all-time and adding more and more films to the canon. AMC is the perfect network to partner with on a passion project like this and we can’t wait to get started.”
And this news makes a bit of sense considering season 1 was a hit snagging 6 million viewers on AMC. Not to mention the expanded versions over on Shudder and the popular podcast.
Masters of horror – icons and stars who define the genre – join Eli Roth in the series to explore horror’s biggest themes and reveal the inspirations and struggles behind its past and present.
Hourlong episodes feature A-list storytellers like Stephen King, Quentin Tarantino, Jordan Peele, Jason Blum, Robert Englund, Linda Blair, Rob Zombie, Jack Black, John Landis and Jamie Lee Curtis, who discuss how horror has evolved through the years and impacted society, as well as how the genre maintains its fan base and why audiences are addicted to fear.
Eli Roth’s History of Horror is produced by The Content Group and Marwar Junction Productions. Eli Roth serves as the show’s executive producer alongside Kurt Sayenga, Steven Michaels, Jonathan Koch, Joseph Freed, and Allison Berkley.
