SAW TV Series in Development?
Darren Lynn Bousman’s Saw reboot starring Chris Rock and Samuel L. Jackson is heading our way in May 2020. And today we’re hearing that Saw: The TV Series is also in the early stages of active development.
This rumor comes to us from We Got This Covered who points out that it’s currently unclear how both the TV series and movies will interrelate with one another.
I think Saw would make a killer TV series as the franchise has always had a “this year on Saw” feel to it from the beginning.
The Saw reboot is coming our way from director Darren Lynn Bousman from a screenplay written by Josh Stolberg and Peter Goldfinger based on a story by Chris Rock based on the original film which was written by James Wan and Leigh Whannell.
Oren Koules and Mark Burg produce this new Saw and it stars Chris Rock, Samuel L. Jackson, Max Minghella, and Marisol Nichols. Lionsgate Films will release it on May 15, 2020.
Meanwhile, James Wan and Leigh Whannell’s Saw followed photographer Adam Stanheight (Leigh Whannell) and oncologist Lawrence Gordon (Cary Elwes) who regain consciousness while chained to pipes at either end of a filthy bathroom.
As the two men realize they’ve been trapped by a sadistic serial killer nicknamed “Jigsaw” and must complete his perverse puzzle to live, flashbacks relate the fates of his previous victims. Meanwhile, Dr. Gordon’s wife and young daughter are forced to watch his torture via closed-circuit video.
