SCREAM Reboot to Feature Original Cast?
Spyglass has a reboot of Wes Craven and Kevin Williamson’s slasher classic Scream in the works. And today we’re hearing via We Got This Covered that the producers are hoping to snag the original cast to return.
This, of course, includes Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott, David Arquette as Dewey Riley, and Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers.
Let it be known that this is just a (killer) rumor at this point in time but make sure to keep checking back with us here at Dread Central and we will pass along further updates as we hear them.
It has been many years since the Ghostface Killer cut a deadly path through the town of Woodsboro. In order to get over the trauma of those horrific events in Scream 4, Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) has written a self-help book. She returns to Woodsboro for her book tour, and reconnects with old friends Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox) and Sheriff Dewey (David Arquette). However, Sidney’s arrival also sparks the return of Ghostface, putting Sidney and everyone she loves in danger.
Scream 4 was directed by Wes Craven from a screenplay by Kevin Williamson. Craven and Williamson also produced the film along with Iya Labunka. It starred David Arquette, Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, Emma Roberts, Hayden Panettiere, Anthony Anderson, Alison Brie, Adam Brody, Rory Culkin, Marielle Jaffe, Erik Knudsen, Mary McDonnell, Marley Shelton, and Nico Tortorella. Dimension Films released it on April 15, 2011.
