Michael Rooker Finally Featured in New FANTASY ISLAND Trailer
Blumhouse’s horror-twist on that old TV series Fantasy Island is headed our way this Valentine’s Day. And today we have the movie’s international trailer which (finally) features Michael Rooker.
Check it out up top.
Truth be told, I was kind of hooked by this movie’s general premise (a horror version of Fantasy Island, duh) but after seeing the preview this looks a little, I don’t know, ‘meh’ to me. Hopefully, the final film keeps the blood and guts coming though. Fingers crossed for an R-rating.
Yeah, right.
It centers on the enigmatic Mr. Roarke played by Michael Peña who makes the secret dreams of his lucky guests come true at a luxurious but remote tropical resort. But when the fantasies turn into nightmares, the guests have to solve the island’s mystery in order to escape with their lives.
Fantasy Island is directed by Jeff Wadlow from a screenplay he wrote along with Jillian Jacobs and Chris Roach based on the show created by Gene Levitt. Jason Blum produces.
It stars Lucy Hale Maggie Q, Portia Doubleday, Jimmy O. Yang, Ryan Hansen, Charlotte McKinney, Parisa Fitz-Henley, Austin Stowell, Michael Rooker, and Michael Peña as Mr. Roarke.
Sony Pictures will unleash the Blumhouse Production into theaters on February 14, 2020.
For the record, the original TV series Fantasy Island was created by Gene Levitt and aired from 1977-84. It starred Ricardo Montalban as Mr. Roarke and Herve Villechaize as his assistant Tattoo.
