View of the home of Ronald DeFeo Sr.,the car salesman, his wife, two daughters and two sons were found shot to death on 11/14/1974. Ronald DeFeo Jr., 23, the only surviving member of the family, who called the police to report the slayings, was being questioned by police. The Amityville Horror is based on this case.

Today we’re hearing via Variety that Netflix has an all-new docuseries in the works from director Joe Berlinger that will cover the most notoriously haunted places in America.

The untitled series is described as a gritty and meticulous study of some of America’s most notorious haunted locations. Sounds like fun to me!

Unfortunately, that’s all we know about the upcoming docuseries at this point in time. Weak, I know. But it’s all good. Just make sure to keep checking back with us here at Dread Central and we will make sure to pass along updates on this killer new docuseries as they come our way.

For those that might be unaware, director Joe Berlinger is known around these parts as the man behind such killer documentaries as Conversations With a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes and the Paradise Lost trilogy Paradise Lost: The Child Murders at Robin Hood Hills, Paradise Lost 2: Revelations, and Paradise Lost 3: Purgatory.

And let’s not forget the man is also the filmmaker behind such feature flicks as Blair Witch 2: Book of Shadows and Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile.
