J.T. Petty Directs Missing Person Thriller APPETITE
Hellbenders and The Burrowers writer-director J.T. Petty is set to write and direct a missing-persons thriller called Appetite. The plot centers on a mother who investigates her daughter’s disappearance leading to inexplicable and terrible consequences.
David S. Goyer and Keith Levine are producing with Productivity Media fully financing the film.
Goyer says, “J.T. has crafted a unique vision that completely upends the missing child genre in a fresh and unpredictable way. We are excited to help him bring to life this truly original tale.”
A first-quarter 2020 start date is being eyed, Deadline reports. Casting is currently underway.

It centers on a rescue party in the old west who sets out to find a family that vanished from their home under mysterious circumstances and comes face to face with underground creatures.
Petty wrote and directed The Burrowers while William Sherak and Jason Shuman produced. It stars William Mapother, Sean Patrick Thomas, Doug Hutchison, Karl Geary, Laura Leighton, Robert Ri’chard, and Clancy Brown. Lionsgate unleashed the western horror flick back on April 21, 2009.
