Sean Astin Wants GOONIES 2 To Go Back in Time With One-Eyed Willy
I don’t think we will ever give up hope for The Goonies 2. Case in point, today we hear original The Goonies star Sean Astin has a killer pitch for a sequel, involving traveling back in time for a One-Eyed Willy movie.
He tells ComicBook.com: “The Goonies sequel I want to see, I want to go back in time and I want to meet One-Eyed Willy in the middle of battle. That’s what I want to do. But I’m just the actor, I don’t get to choose. I never put it out there, but now we’re getting old, might as well.”

For those that might not know, The Goonies is about a band of adventurous kids who take on the might of a property developing company that plans to destroy their home to build a country club. When the children discover an old pirate map in the attic, they follow it into an underground cavern in search of treasure but come up against plenty of dangerous obstacles along the way.
It stars Sean Astin as Mikey, Josh Brolin as Brand, Jeff Cohen as Chunk, Corey Feldman as Mouth, and Jonathan Ke Huy Quan as Data. Kerri Green joined them as Andy along with Martha Plimpton as Stef. John Matuszak also starred as Sloth Fratelli along with Robert Davi as Jake Fratelli, Joe Pantoliano as Francis Fratelli, and Anne Ramsey as Mama Fratelli.
The Goonies was directed by Richard Donner (The Omen) from a screenplay written by Chris Columbus (Gremlins) based on a story by Steven Spielberg (Jaws). Donner produced with Harvey Bernhard (The Lost Boys). Warner Bros. released it back on June 7, 1985.
