Stephen King ‘Stoked’ For Netflix’s LOCKE & KEY
It’s been a long time coming but it looks like Horns and NOS4A2 author Joe Hill’s classic comic book series Locke & Key is finally coming to the screen via Netflix in February 2020.
I know I’m excited to finally check it out. And today we hear that Hill’s father, Stephen King is “stoked” for the new series as well.
He tweets:
Are you as stoked as Stephen King for Netflix’s adaptation of Joe Hill’s Locke & Key? Let us know in the comments below or over on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram!
Based on the bestselling graphic novels by Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez, the show comes to us from Carlton Cuse (Bates Motel) and Meredith Averill (The Haunting of Hill House) and is described as a coming-of-age mystery about love, loss, and the unshakable bonds that define family.
More specifically, it centers on the three Locke siblings and their mother who move into their ancestral home, Keyhouse, after their father is murdered under mysterious circumstances. Keyhouse, they discover is full of magical keys that may be connected to their father’s death and as the Locke children explore the different keys and their unique powers, a mysterious demon awakens – and will stop at nothing to steal them.
IT and IT: Chapter Two‘s Andy and Barbara Muschietti serve as the show’s executive producers alongside Cuse, Averill, Aron Eli Coleite, Joe Hill, Chris Ryall, Lydia Antonini, Ted Adams, Lindsey Springer, David Alpert, Rick Jacobs, Tim Southam, John Weber, and Frank Siracusa.
This new version of Locke & Key stars Darby Stanchfield (Scandal) as Nina Locke, Jackson Robert Scott (IT and IT: Chapter Two) as Bode Locke, Connor Jessup (American Crime) as Tyler Locke, and Emilia Jones (Horrible Histories) as Kinsey Locke.
Bill Heck (The Ballad of Buster Scruggs) joins them as Rendell Locke, with Laysla De Oliveira as Dodge, Thomas Mitchell Barnet as Sam Lesser, Griffin Gluck (American Vandal) as Gabe, and Coby Bird as Rufus Whedon. Joe Hill’s Locke & Key premieres on Netflix on February 7, 2020.
