Kevin Bacon Still Has Hope for TREMORS Reboot
A few years back, Kevin Bacon starred in a failed pilot of a rebooted Tremors TV series at SyFy. And today he talked about the abandoned series and his hopes that it finds a home one day.
Bacon shared with Variety: “I have a very specific thing that happened, which was I wanted to reboot Tremors. And worked very hard on it and did a fantastic pilot with Blumhouse. Andrew Miller was the writer of it. We shot the pilot. I thought it was cool and SYFY decided not to go forward with it. I liked that character because it was the only character I really looked at and said, ‘I wanna know where he is 25 years later.’ We left him at a certain point, he had this extraordinary thing with these worms, underground worms. He’s not a smart man, kind of a loser, but he was able to fight these worms. Now let’s see what happened to him 25 years down the line.”
So will a reboot ever happen? Bacon says: “I don’t know the answer to that. I feel like we’ve explored the options. But, listen, you never know. Stranger things have happened.”

Bacon starred in the original Tremors as Val McKee who along with his best buddy Earl Bassett (Fred Ward) is tired of his dull life in the small desert town. But just as the two try to skip town, they happen upon a series of mysterious deaths and a seismologist studying unnatural readings below the ground. With the help of an eccentric couple (Reba McEntire, Michael Gross), the group fights for survival against giant, worm-like monsters hungry for human flesh.
