Born on this day in 1965: Ted Raimi

Ted Raimi is a horror legend. The younger brother of director Sam Raimi and writer/producer Ivan Raimi, Ted got his start acting in industrial films in Detroit. He appeared in several of Sam’s earliest short films, and his first feature role was Fake Shemp in The Evil Dead. He has appeared in every one of Sam’s films, including Crimewave, Evil Dead II, Darkman, Army of Darkness, and Drag Me to Hell.

Ted has had plenty of roles in horror films that weren’t directed by his brother: Shocker, Candyman, The Midnight Meat Train, Maniac Cop 3: Badge of Silence, Skinner, Wishmaster, The Attic Expeditions, and The Grudge.

On the small screen, Ted appeared in two episodes of the original Twin Peaks, and episodes of American Gothic,Masters of Horror, and Supernatural. He had regular roles on Xena: Warrior Princess, SeaQuest DSV, and Ash Vs. Evil Dead, and wrote and directed a horror web series, Morbid Minutes.
