CHASING NIGHTMARES Snags Anne Heche & Graham McTavish
Producer David Brown’s Clear Horizon recently launched a new genre label called Specter Pictures. And today we’ve learned that the new label’s first film will be writer-director Christopher McGowan’s horror thriller Chasing Nightmares.
And this morning, Deadline reports that Anne Heche (Marion Crane from the Psycho remake), Graham McTavish (The Saint of Killers in Preacher), and Michelle Randolph (A Snow White Christmas and House of the Witch) have signed on to star in the flick.
It centers on a college student (Randolph) who risks her and her friends’ lives to track down the meaning behind the nightmares she has about a girl and a delusional masked man.
Spencer Daniels, Aubrey Cleland, Jay Huguley, and Dana Daurey will also star in the film which is currently shooting in Los Angeles with Brown producing with Todd Lundbohm.

All this news does for me at the moment is it makes me want to revisit Gus Van Sant’s strange shot-for-shot remake of Hitchcock’s Psycho with Anne Heche. It follows Heche as Marion who steals a huge sum from cash from her boss and skips town, hoping for a fresh start with her broke boyfriend. She eventually stops at a remote motel where she’s served by the intensely awkward Norman Bates (Vince Vaughn), whom she often hears arguing with his domineering mother. Later that night, Marion is brutally slain, and Norman finds and hides the body. Then a detective and Marion’s sister visit the motel to investigate, they uncover shocking truths.
