Syfy Renews VAN HELSING For Fifth and Final Season
THR reports SyFy has renewed Van Helsing for a fifth and final season. Production on the 13-episode final season will begin early next year heading towards a release in 2020.
Chad Oakes, who exec produces the series as co-chairman of producers Nomadic Pictures says:
“We are thrilled to be able to bring the amazing Van Helsing saga to a close. This could not have been done without the support of our incredible cast, crew, Syfy, Netflix [which pays to stream the series] and Super Ecran.”
Daniel March, managing partner at Dynamic Television adds:
“We are so proud of Van Helsing and would like to thank Syfy and the amazing fans who embraced this series. We are excited to end the show on its own terms and to give our story, these characters, and our fans the conclusion they so richly deserve.”
In this reimagining of the classic Dracula story, the world is dominated by vampires, requiring humans to work together to survive. The series centers on Vanessa Helsing, daughter of famed vampire hunter Abraham Van Helsing, who wakes up after a five-year coma to discover a vampire-controlled world. She soon learns that she possesses a unique blood composition that makes her immune to vampires and able to turn the creatures into humans. That power puts humanity’s last hope to return the world to how it once was in Vanessa’s hands.
It stars Kelly Overton, Jonathan Scarfe, Tricia Helfer, Nicole Munoz, Keeya King, Neal McDonough, Vincent Gale, Rukiya Bernard, and Aleks Paunovic. Jonathan Lloyd Walker is the showrunner.
The show wraps its fourth season on December 20th.
