LA Weekly called Bowen “mumblegore’s go-to star.” With nearly fifty credits to his name, he doesn’t do justmumblecore, but he does do almost exclusively horror.
Some of his “mumblegore” credits include You’re Next, The House of the Devil, The Sacrament, The Guest, A Horrible Way to Die, and The Signal. Other horror credits include: Creepshow 3, Hatchet II, Chillerama, Tom Holland’s Twisted Tales, Edge of Insanity, I Trapped the Devil, Satanic Panic, and Deathcember.
A tuba player who gave up a music scholarship in order to take up acting, Bowen has dipped his toes into producing on films that include Maidenhead, I Trapped the Devil, and Night Drive. He is currently working on a film called Night Sky, based on a script written by Bowen.
