Phoenix Killed Young Bruce Wayne in Original JOKER Ending

The Hangover and Old School director Todd Phillips’ Joker starring Joaquin Phoenix was one of the best films of 2019 and will be hitting Blu-ray in January. And today writer-director Kevin Smith reveals that Phoenix killed young Bruce Wayne in the film’s original ending!

Specifically, Smith said on Fatman Beyond:

Originally, the ending in the hospital was different. He’s in the hospital and he laughs, chuckles, and he says, ‘I was just thinkin’ of something funny. What was supposed to happen was you flashed back to the death of Thomas and Martha Wayne and it was him killing Thomas and Martha Wayne and the boy was screaming and crying and he turned to walk away and he turned back, shrugged, and shot the kid. Credits. What the fuck, man! This world has no Batman!
