This Day in Horror: Happy Birthday Sarah Polley

Born on this day in 1979: actress and director Sarah Polley
One of Polley’s first roles was in the pilot episode of Friday the 13th: The Series. She played Mary, a spoiled young girl whose father buys her a porcelain doll that happens to be cursed. The doll comes alive and kills those who get in Mary’s way.
Along the way in her 30+ year career, Polley has starred as the lead in Zach Snyder’s 2004 remake of George Romero’s Dawn of the Dead; she appeared in Blue Monkey, a movie about a giant killer insect; David Cronenberg’s eXistenZ, about assassins in a virtual reality video game; and Splice, about a couple who creates a human/animal hybrid.
