Moseley sat down with the folks at Sofa King in advance of his appearance at Astronomicon and told the site he’s hoping to buy the character rights to Chop Top, and may even turn to crowdfunding to raise funds. Here’s what the site told their Facebook followers this afternoon:
” Sofa King Cool caught up with Bill Moseley and we discussed his upcoming appearance at Astronomicon and his rare photo op appearance as CHOPTOP at the event. We discussed who the fans prefer between Choptop and is Iconic horror role of Otis Driftwood, and We then discussed the character Choptop from The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2 and how he still owns the costume and the props and, ad libbing some of his most famous lines, and how he would love the opportunity to play him again. Which brings us to playing Otis Driftwood, how he got into that character and how Bill wishes he was more like Otis. We talk about working with Rob Zombie on the films. We also discuss his music career, working with @buckethead and how they met, their band The Cornbugs, then recording an album with Pantera’s Phil Anselmo and how it came about, and his future musical projects”
Fans of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre have long dreamed of Chop-Top’s return. Here’s hoping Moseley snags the rights and puts them to good use!
