Severin Films Launches Series with Director of This Weekend’s Hit COLOR OUT OF SPACE

Today, Severin Films is launching the first installment in a new ongoing series entitled The Severin Cellar. Severin is inviting beloved giants from the world of cult cinema down into the hitherto off-limits dank, dark recesses of the remote company shack to select and wax rhapsodic about their most treasured psychotronic transmissions from the Severin Films archives. Give it a spin embedded at the top of the article.

The inaugural episode features outsider filmmaking legend Richard Stanley, director of the Nicolas Cage starring H.P. Lovecraft adaptation Color Out of Space, which opened this past weekend to big box office and critical acclaim. Severin has a long, storied history with Stanley: Company President David Gregory directed the documentary Lost Souls: The Doomed Journey of Richard Stanley’s The Island of Dr. Moreau and is a Co-Producer on Color Out of Space. Severin also distributes Stanley’s mind-warping documentary The Otherworld and the now out of print special edition of his sci-fi/horror hit Hardware. Severin also produced the horror anthology feature The Theatre Bizarre, which marked the director’s return to narrative filmmaking after a more than two-decade hiatus.

The Severin Cellar series will air on the Severin youtube channel on a semi-regular basis.
