How would you like to see some scantily clad hotties frolicking in the Florida sun? How about we take out the frolicking, but add in a bunch of insane meth runners and a government conspiracy surrounding a mysterious meteoroid. We’ll even throw in a deaf Labrador retriever. This is The Pit.

Written and directed by Matthew Gunnoe, The Pit features some horror veterans like Jim Winburn (Halloween, The Fog) and Linnea Quigley (Return of The Living Dead, Night of the Demons) and new faces like Amber Sym (Playboy). The film is being produced for Syfy and Chiller, but an unrated version will also be released. Check out the official website for The Pit for more.

The Pit Synopsis
Three friends – Stephanie, Chelsea and Megan – are looking to get away from it all. After a recent breakup they decide to take a vacation in Florida but skip the typical tourist venues. Instead they head off on their own, with their only male companion being Bandit, a deaf black lab.

En route to the beach, the girls travel a seemingly endless stretch of desolate road, and after a while they pull over to stretch their legs and water Bandit. This proves to be a fatal mistake as Bandit disappears into the foliage. Because he’s deaf, the girls must follow to retrieve him. But after hours of searching they only manage to become lost in the sweltering wetlands of Florida.

Exhaustion turns to horror as they are captured by a vicious gang of meth runners and discover drugs aren’t the only secrets they conceal in the vast swamp. Their deranged captors are working on a secret government project concerning a mysterious meteorite they simply call The Pit.

Now the girls must use every drop of adrenaline in a fight for survival and to avoid being test subjects for The Pit.
