This Day in Horror: Happy Birthday Sophia Lillis
One of the most talented, rising child stars of the 21st Century isn’t a child anymore. Today is Sophia Lillis’s 18th Birthday!
Lillis became an instant icon of horror for her turns as Bev Marsh in IT (2017) and IT: Chapter Two (2019); she also killed in the HBO mini-series Sharp Objects. Lillis is currently earning rave reviews as Gretel in Osgood Perkins’ Gretel & Hansel (still playing in theaters nationwide). And while most of us didn’t know about her until recently, she actually began her acting career at the tender age of 7 when her stepfather encouraged her to take acting classes at Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in Manhattan.
That class led to a gig in a student film and, before much longer, Lillis was signed to a talent agency. She’s clearly got a tremendous career ahead of her and we can’t wait to see what she delivers in the years to come.
All of us here at Dread Central wish Sophia Lillis a truly happy birthday! Welcome to adulthood!
