Bong Joon Ho’s Next Film To Be Unique Horror Action Movie

The Host, Mother, and Memories of Murder director Bong Joon Ho’s Parasite snagged Best Picture, Best Director, Best International Feature, and more at the Oscars this past weekend. And today we hear his next film could be a unique mixture of horror and action.

Bong tells IndieWire: “I have to work, it’s my job. So I’ve been working for the past 20 years, and regardless of what happened at Cannes and Oscars, I had been working on two projects before then, I’m continuing to work on them, nothing has changed because of these awards.

He adds: “One is in Korean and one is in English. The Korean film is located in Seoul and has unique elements of horror and action. It’s difficult to define the genre of my films.

Not much else is known about the two movies at this time, but Bong says they “are not big films.” We’ll make sure to keep up to date on the flick(s) as they develop and pass along updates.

But whatever Bong does next we can expect it to be original. The filmmaker has said in the past that he models his career after Quentin Tarantino, prioritizing original ideas and original cinema.

So, yeah, no Marvel movie for him.
