This Day in Horror: Happy Birthday Emily Blunt

Emily Blunt secured her place in horror history playing Evelyn Abbott in 2018’s A Quiet Place, a role she’ll be reprising in A Quiet Place Part II, set to arrive in US theaters beginning March 20th, 2020. Give that film’s trailer and synopsis a spin below.

Synopsis:
The Abbott family must now face the terrors of the outside world as they fight for survival in silence. Forced to venture into the unknown, they realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path.

Though horror isn’t a staple of Blunt’s extensive filmography, she also starred as the nameless female protagonist in Wind Chill (2007) and played Gwen Conliffe in The Wolfman (2010). She’s also done sci-fi in Looper and Edge of Tomorrow.

Family:

On August 28, 2009, Blunt and John Krasinski announced their engagement. The couple married on July 10, 2010, at the estate of their friend, George Clooney, on Lake Como in Italy. Blunt and Krasinski live in the Los Angeles area, California, and have two children. (Source)

Trivia:

She stuttered severely as a young girl and ultimately overcame her problem by finding a different ‘voice’ (acting). Cites friend Colin Firth’s stammering King George VI in The King’s Speech (2010) as an accurate depiction of how she actually spoke as a youth. (Source)

Emily Blunt was born on February 23rd, 1983. Today, all of us here at Dread Central wish her a very Happy Birthday!
