Gone opened in theaters on February 24th. Opening in 9th place, it was pretty much gone from theaters a week later. Summit isn’t wasting any time getting it on DVD, but will you want to waste your time watching a glorified Lifetime Network serial killer thriller starring Amanda Seyfried?

Synopsis:
In the suspense thriller GONE, Jill Parrish (Amanda Seyfried) comes home from a night shift to discover her sister Molly has been abducted. Jill, who had escaped from a kidnapper a year before, is convinced that the same serial killer has come back for her sister. Afraid that Molly will be dead by sundown, Jill embarks on a heart-pounding chase to find the killer, expose his secrets and save her sister.

On the plus side, Amanda Seyfried does give a good performance. On the negative side, well, just read my Gone review, and you’ll find out why everything else constitutes the negative side.

Gone flopped so bad its total box office tally was a pitiful $8.9 million. Summit Entertainment will hope to recoup some of its losses when Gone finds its way to DVD/VOD/Blu-ray on May 29th, according to VideoEta. No word on DVD extras. Something tells me this is going to be a bare bones release.
