This Day in Horror: Happy Birthday Isabelle Fuhrman
Isabelle Fuhrman became a horror icon at the tender age of 12 after her turn as Esther in the psychological horror/slasher Orphan, released in 2009. Though it’s doubtful we’ll be seeing her in the recently-announced prequel, Esther, she’s nonetheless become inextricable from the character she played.

Though horror isn’t a staple of her career, Furhman appeared in Cell (2016); we’ll also be seeing her in Escape Room 2 (currently in post-production, eyeing a November 30th, 2020 release).
Family:
Her mother, Elina Fuhrman (née Kozmits), is a journalist who immigrated from the Soviet Union and has worked for CNN. Her father, Nick Fuhrman, is a former political candidate and business consultant. She has an older sister, Madeline Fuhrman, who is a singer and songwriter. (Source)
Trivia:
Isabelle was a fan of The Hunger Games books and wrote to the director Gary Ross, telling him she would like to be in the movie. She originally read for the role of Katniss, but was called back to read for the part of Clove. (Source)
