HAPPY DEATH DAY 3 Still In The Cards, Says Jason Blum
Happy Death Day was just about the best PG-13 slasher we could ever hope for. Happy Death Day 2U. Not so much. All the same, Blumhouse’s Jason Blum just spoke with our buddies over at Bloody Disgusting and said he’s still up for producing Happy Death Day 3.
Jason Blum says: “Yeah, those are fun. I would say Happy Death Day is still on my radar in some shape or form. I haven’t put it to bed yet, so I don’t know how it’s going to manifest itself but it’s still in the front of my mind. Never say never. Never say never. I got ideas. I’m not going to say we’re doing Happy Death Day 3 right now but I’m not going to NOT say it either. I haven’t put it to bed yet, despite the fact that anyone else in Hollywood would have because the second movie didn’t work. It was an AMAZING movie. But it didn’t work financially.”

Sounds good to me!
Happy Death Day centered on a blissfully self-centered collegian who wakes up on her birthday with the eerie feeling that she’s experienced the events of this day before. When a masked killer suddenly takes her life in a brutal attack, she magically wakes up unharmed. Now, the frightened young woman must relive the same day over and over until she figures out who murdered her.

Happy Death Day 2U then found our heroine waking up in horror to learn that she’s stuck in a parallel universe. Her boyfriend, her friends and fellow students seem to be completely different versions of themselves. When Tree discovers that Carter’s roommate has been altering time, she finds herself once again the target of a masked killer. When the psychopath starts to go after her inner circle, Tree soon realizes that she must die over and over again to save everyone.
