Written by Danny Brocklehurst, the series is based on the Harlan Coben novel of the same title.

It centers on a mysterious stranger who tells a man a secret that has a devastating impact on his seemingly perfect life. This Stranger is a woman in her mid-20s with a baseball cap and is learned to be correlated with more secrets as the series progresses. This secret affects the man’s wife who goes missing as a result.

The 8-episode series sports an 86% approval rating over on Rotten Tomatoes with a Critics Consensus that reads: If not quite as addicting as its source material, The Stranger has a strong cast and enough tension to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
