One of the reasons we’re so fond of the video news and essays produced by UK film critic and academic Mr. H is his smooth, baritone voice. It’s got a hypnotic timber that always keeps us rapt. So we were incredibly thrilled to see that he’s released an audiobook of The Colour Out of Space by H.P. Lovecraft.

Synopsis:
The Colour Out of Space is a science fiction/horror short story by American author H. P. Lovecraft, written in March 1927. In the tale, an unnamed narrator pieces together the story of an area known by the locals as the “blasted heath” in the wild hills west of the fictional town of Arkham, Massachusetts.
The recent Techioncolor nightmare Color Out of Space is, obviously, loosely based on Lovecraft’s tale. If you’ve yet to see that film for yourself, check out the trailer and synopsis below.
Synopsis:
After a meteorite lands in the front yard of their farm, Nathan Gardner and his family find themselves battling a mutant extraterrestrial organism that infects their minds and bodies, transforming their quiet rural life into a technicolor nightmare.
