This Day in Horror History: ABOMINABLE Was Released in 2006
The most underrated Bigfoot-themed horror movie, hands down, is Abominable, written and directed by Ryan Schifrin, released on this day back in 2006. Picture a madcap, darkly-comedic reimagining of Rear Window–featuring a pack of killer cryptids! It stars Matt McCoy (who played Lloyd Braun on Seinfeld) and features killer cameos from Jeffrey Combs, Lance Henricksen, and Tiffany Shepis.

If you’ve ever wanted to see a sasquatch take a bite out of a man’s head like an apple, see Abominable immediately! Need more convincing, check out the trailer and synopsis below.
Synopsis:
After recovering from a horrific accident, paraplegic Preston Rogers (Matt McCoy) moves back into the remote cabin where he and his now-deceased wife once lived. When one of his new neighbors, Karen (Ashley Hartman), is attacked by a gigantic ape-like beast, Rogers contacts the local authorities. But after the police — and even his personal nurse, Otis Wilhelm (Christien Tinsley) — dismiss Rogers as a delusional widower, he sets out to stop the abominable creature himself.
Trivia:
Sheriff Halderman (Paul Gleason) is seen taking a sip from a mug with the quote “Don’t mess with the bull”. Gleason’s famous character Principal Richard Vernon from The Breakfast Club (1985) says, “Don’t mess with the bull, young man. You’ll get the horns,” as he’s reprimanding John Bender (Judd Nelson).
