Mile High Horror Film Festival Calling for EntriesWell, Tim Tebow might be gone, but life goes on in Denver. And that being the case, the organizers behind the Mile High Horror Film Festival have decided to carry on and are now calling for entries for this year’s festival. Are you a filmmaker, do you have dreams of fame and riches? This is a good place to start.

The 2012 Mile High Horror Film Festival, October 5-7 at Denver FilmCenter/Colfax, 2510 East Colfax, Denver, CO, is accepting submissions in four categories: feature length, short films, animated films at least 50 minutes and local Colorado films. Word from festival organizers is that filmmakers are encouraged to submit films as early as possible.

An IMDb-qualifying festival, its mission is to showcase the best in independent horror film. The 2011 festival featured more than 30 films from 11 countries, including I Saw The Devil, Chillerama, Midnight Son and The Woman. Lifetime Achievement for Excellence in Horror Film was given to guest Michael Berryman (One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, The Hills Have Eyes and Rob Zombie’s The Devil’s Rejects) Guests judges included Jeffrey Reddick (creator of the Final Destination series) and Dan Myrick (director of The Blair Witch Project).
