Another familiar face has signed on for the pilot of The CW’s potential new series “Cult” in the form of “Bones” villain Andrew Leeds, who joins the already announced Jessica Lucas, Matt Davis, Robert Knepper, and Alona Tal.
Written by Rockne O’Bannon, “Cult” centers on Skye (Lucas), an inquisitive young production assistant on a wildly popular television show called Cult. After a rash of disappearances and a likely murder, she joins Jeff (Davis), a journalist blogger whose brother was among those gone missing, in investigating the rabid fans of the series who might be re-creating crimes seen on the program in real life. According to Deadline, Leeds’ character is named Kyle and is the network Creative VP recently assigned to Cult. Knepper will play actor Roger Reeves, who portrays charismatic cult leader Billy Grimm on the show-within-a-show while Tal will play a cop, but there’s a twist: Tal will be playing an actress named Kelly Collins, who in turn is portraying a young LAPD detective.
Confusing? Yep, but we’re sure it’ll all make sense if and when the show hits the airwaves.
