Guillermo del Toro Explains Why There Will Never Be A HELLBOY 3
Some lame news today as The Shape of Water writer-director Guillermo del Toro says that there will never be a third film in his Hellboy series following Hellboy II: The Golden Army.
He explains: “What allowed the two films to exist, it’s gone. The Blu-ray DVD performance of the first Hellboy was massive. So big that Ben Feingold, at Columbia, went full-on on the sequel development. Ben was so impressed by those numbers that he made ‘Hellboy’ one of the very first Blu-rays from Columbia. Far as I can recall, the number for home video surpassed theatrical.“

Tired of living in the shadow of humans, Prince Nuada tries to awaken an ancient army of killing machines to clear the way for fantasy creatures to roam free. Only Hellboy can stop the dark prince and prevent humanity’s annihilation.
It has an 86% on Rotten Tomatoes with this Critics Consensus: Guillermo del Toro crafts a stellar comic book sequel, boasting visuals that are as imaginative as the characters are endearing.
