Confirmed: THE NEW MUTANTS Gets August Theatrical Release Date
There was a time when The New Mutants was one of the most hotly-anticipated movies of 2018. No seriously. Now, it’s 2020 and the film still hasn’t seen the light of day. Even before COVID-19, the film had been rescheduled too many times to count with many hypothesizing the film would be dumped straight-to-VOD.
Today, however, Deadline reports that The New Mutants has been given yet another release date–in theaters!
The much-delayed former Fox/Marvel The New Mutants is not going to Disney+ or Hulu, and remains on track for a theatrical release, now set for Aug. 28 this year. New Mutants stands alone as the only wide entry on the pre-Labor Day weekend frame.
Synopsis:
Magik, Wolfsbane and other teenage mutants try to come to grips with their superpowers while staying at a secret facility.
The New Mutants is directed by Josh Boone and stars Maisie Williams, Anya Taylor-Joy, and Charlie Heaton.
