It’s been a while since we updated you on Joe Hollow’s upcoming horror flick Disciples, but that changes as of right now. Read on for an exclusive with the filmmaker, ‘first look’ stills and word on the production’s convention booth this weekend at Monsterpalooza.
Written and directed by Hollow with cinematography by Wolfgang Meyer, Disciples features a genre-heavy cast, which includes Bill Moseley (The Devil’s Rejects), Tony Todd (Candyman), Angus Scrimm (Phantasm), Linnea Quigley (The Return of the Living Dead), Brinke Stevens (Haunting Fear), scream queen Debbie Rochon, Nick Principe (Laid To Rest), Tom Lodewyck, Camden Toy (‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’) and more, with a log-line that reads, “It has been written that an angel would be risen to usurp the emperor Lucifer. If this angel were to be given life, Lucifer would no longer be what God now fears.”
“Disciples is being edited right now,” Hollow told us of the status of the feature which he shot over the course of twenty-two days in 2011 and 2012 both in Florida and Los Angeles, CA, “and then it’s off for visual effects and polishing the score, and it will be all set.”
As for when horror fans will be able to see the trailer, Hollow revealed that he’ll debut it at his Disciples booth this weekend at Monsterpalooza in Burbank, CA (which runs April 13, 14 & 15 at the Burbank Marriot), where he will be joined by cast-members Moseley, Stevens and genre vet Michael Berryman, who starred in Hollow’s horror feature Cut. The group will be signing autographs as well as the below collage art for Disciples, which will be numbered and limited to just one-hundred.
“I am so excited to see the reaction,” said Hollow of his anticipation of fans’ response to the trailer. “We put a lot of work into this film, and an incredible amount of love and passion. It was one great big family!”
Come back Monday when we’ll premiere the exclusive trailer for the flick online!
