Mike Mignola Shares Incredible Quarantine Artwork Of All Your Favourite Characters
Mike Mignola has clearly been putting his artistic skills to good use during the lockdown period. The creator of Hellboy has been sharing a series of images on his Twitter account of licensed characters he’s been drawing to help pass the time while he’s stuck at home as a result of the quarantine. Best of all, some of his drawings will be auctioned off, with the proceeds going towards the charities World Central Kitchen and Creators 4 Comics. It’s great to know that, in addition to being pleasing to look at, Mignola’s illustrations also helped to fund noble causes.
Some of the characters drawn by Mignola in quarantine include Godzilla, Skeletor from Masters of the Universe, Tusken Raiders from Star Wars, and one of the skeleton warriors from Jason and the Argonauts, as well as his own interpretations of more lighthearted icons, such as Spongebob SquarePants, Kermit the Frog, and Tony the Tiger. He also drew a picture of Hellboy standing alongside Ultraman, the immensely popular superhero from Japan, which makes us hungry for an official crossover between the two characters. On the other hand, anyone who was traumatised by the book Where the Wild Things Are as a child will probably have nightmares just from looking at his drawing of Max in his wolf suit.
Mignola has consistently been sharing these illustrations on his social media platforms, and his fans have been delighted with the results. You can view some of his quarantine drawings in the gallery below, and be sure to head over to his Twitter and Instagram accounts to see more. While we are hoping for this quarantine period to end as much as anyone else, we also hope Mignola continues producing these incredible images.
