THE NEW MUTANTS: Josh Boone Still Hopes to Complete Planned Trilogy
The Stand director Josh Boone’s X-Men horror movie The New Mutants just got some new pics. But that’s not all. Today Boone also says he hopes the film will be successful enough the studio will let him to complete a trilogy he has planned out.
Boone told SFX Magazine: “What I’m hoping for now is that it will be successful enough so the studio will allow me to complete a trilogy. I’ve got all planned out.”

New Mutants is directed by Josh Boone and produced by Simon Kinberg, Karen Rosenfelt, and Lauren Shuler Donner from a script by Boone and Knate Lee based on the comic by Chris Claremont and Bob McLeod. It centers on five young mutants, just discovering their abilities while held in a facility against their will, who must fight to escape their sins and save themselves.
