Stephen King Recommends Apple TV + DEFENDING JACOB with Chris Evans
Looking for something new to binge? Well, none other than Mr. Stephen King thinks you should check out the Apple TV+ miniseries Defending Jacob with Chris Evans (Snowpiercer, Sunshine) and Jaeden Martell (IT Chapter Two, The Lodge).
He writes: “DEFENDING JACOB (Apple+) is a standout. Although it’s basically a legal drama, the most powerful moments come in silences when husband and wife look at each other, communicating with their eyes.”

The series is based on the novel by William Landay and was created and written by Mark Bomback and directed by Morten Tyldum. It premiered on April 24, 2020.
It stars Chris Evans and Jaeden Martell along with Michelle Dockery, Cherry Jones, Pablo Schreiber, Betty Gabriel, Sakina Jaffrey, Poorna Jagannathan, J. K. Simmons, Patrick Fischler, Christopher Buckner, Lizzie Short, Evan Risser, and William Xifaras.
The series sports a 71% approval rating over on Rotten Tomatoes with a Critics Consensus that reads: Despite outstanding work from Michelle Dockery and Chris Evans, Defending Jacob stretches its source material too thin, undermining its own rich tension with too much melodramatic padding.
