Some good news has come in regarding FEARnet’s new show “Holliston”. Despite it being just a few weeks old, the network has already renewed it for a second season with new episodes heading our way in the summer of 2013.
Per Deadline, FEARnet GM and president Peter Block said of the show created by Adam Green and produced by ArieScope Pictures, “‘Holliston’ resonates with both genre junkies and more mainstream comedy fans alike, making our first push into original programming a successful attempt for diversifying our schedule and showing the breadth of our audience.”
Returning alongside Green and and his co-star Joe Lynch for Season 2 are Laura Ortiz; Corri English, the lead singer of Brokedown Cadillac; Twisted Sister’s Dee Snider; and Oderus Urungus, lead singer of GWAR. Green said he has been “overjoyed” by the audience’s reaction to the show. “It’s amazing to watch the characters be embraced so quickly and to see fans quoting it on Twitter, Facebook, and at conventions around the country,” he said.
“Holliston” premiered April 3 and runs along with “Todd & the Book of Pure Evil” as part of FEARnet’s Twisted Comedy Block on Tuesday nights. Speaking of which, here are a few clips from tonight’s Episode 1.03, “Skunked”, which airs at 10:30 PM.
“Holliston” Episode 1.03 – “Skunked” Synopsis (4/17/12 air date):
While trying to find their cat Axl, Adam and Joe wind up getting skunked. When Corri and Laura head to the only open convenience store in search of vinegar to help the boys get the smell off, they are detained by the police who are suspicious of their purchase.
About “Holliston”
Adam and Joe are two down on their luck guys living in the small New England town of Holliston, Massachusetts, and struggling to chase their dream of becoming horror movie filmmakers… all while dealing with life, their day jobs, and the opposite sex. With a cast that includes a cross-dressing sexually inappropriate boss, a mentally handicapped cat, and an imaginary friend/alien who lives in the closet… “Holliston” re-invents the traditional sit-com as we know it and breaks new (and sometimes bloody) ground.
