RUMOR: King Ghidorah Returns in GODZILLA VS. KONG

Director Adam Wingard’s mega-monster mash Godzilla vs Kong will be unleashed in 2D, 3D, and IMAX  later this year. And today we’re hearing a rumor that King Ghidorah may make an appearance in the new film.

If this is true, the next bit is a pretty big SPOILER.

Per Bounding Into Comics: “Ghidorah returns to where he started in KOTM, Antarctica, chained to a wall in a glacial temple or some type of facility. He’s surrounded by armed guards that might work for eco-terrorist Alan Jonah. His condition resembles Frankenstein’s monster and his temperament is zombie-like as he regenerates… Jonah is conducting experiments with electricity to stimulate the regrowth of either the head he bought or remnants of Ghidorah’s body melted by Godzilla in Boston….”

Hurm… I guess we’ll have to wait and see about this one…

A sequel to Godzilla: King of the Monsters and Kong: Skull Island, Godzilla vs. Kong is the fourth film in Legendary’s MonsterVerse. It takes place in a time when monsters walk the Earth, and humanity’s fight for its future sets Godzilla and Kong on a collision course that will see the two most powerful forces of nature on the planet collide in a spectacular battle for the ages. As Monarch embarks on a perilous mission into uncharted terrain and unearths clues to the Titans’ origins, a conspiracy threatens to wipe the creatures from the face of the earth forever.

It stars Alexander Skarsgård, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Shun Oguri, Eiza González, Jessica Henwick, Julian Dennison, Kyle Chandler, and Demián Bichir. It’s to be released in 2D, 3D, and IMAX on November 20, 2020.
