Milla Jovovich Suits Up In New MONSTER HUNTER Still
A new image from Sony’s upcoming Monster Hunter film has been released online, and it shows Milla Jovovich suited up and ready for action. You can view it for yourself below.
As well as having a knife in her pouch, we can also see from the image that Jovovich has a projectile weapon known as a Slinger attached to her wrist, so she’s clearly not afraid to tangle with monsters. And this isn’t the first time we’ve seen images from Monster Hunter showing Jovovich wielding iconic weapons from the games, as a previously released poster showed her brandishing a fearsome Jawblade.
Based on Capcom’s hugely popular series of action RPGs, Monster Hunter will focus on an elite military unit who find themselves mysteriously transported to a world filled with gigantic beasts. Jovovich stars as Captain Natalie Artemis, the leader of the group, who is forced to prevent the monsters from the new world she finds herself in from entering a portal and invading Earth. As well as Jovovich, the film also features a cast of recognisable actors, such as Ron Perlman, Diego Boneta, Meagan Good, and martial arts legend Tony Jaa.
Monster Hunter is being directed by Jovovich’s husband, Paul W. S. Anderson, who is no stranger to monster movies or video game adaptations, as he also helmed Mortal Kombat, Resident Evil, and Alien vs. Predator. It was filmed in South Africa in 2018, and with a production budget of $60 million, it sounds like Monster Hunter will deliver all the giant monster action fans will be expecting when it opens in wide release on September 4, 2020.
