Stephen King Recommends Spike Lee’s Netflix Movie DA 5 BLOODS

Looking for something new to watch? Well, Stephen King recommends Spike Lee’s Da 5 Bloods with Delroy Lindo and Chadwick Boseman.

He writes: “DA 5 BLOODS: “We ain’t home, son. We ain’t home.” This film is fabulous, for all sorts of reasons. Right movie, right time.”

Check out his tweet below.

Rated R for strong violence, grisly images, and pervasive language, it centers on four African American vets battle the forces of man and nature when they return to Vietnam seeking the remains of their fallen squad leader and the gold fortune he helped them hide.

It sports a 93% on Rotten Tomatoes with a Critics Consensus that reads: Fierce energy and ambition course through Da 5 Bloods, coming together to fuel one of Spike Lee’s most urgent and impactful films.

Lindo and Boseman’s co-stars include Jonathan Majors, Clarke Peters, Norm Lewis, Isiah Whitlock Jr., Mélanie Thierry, and Jean Reno.

Written by Danny Bilson and Paul De Meo with Lee and Kevin Willmott (BlacKkKlansman). Lee produced with Jon Kilik, Beatriz Levin, and Lloyd Levin. Sporting a budget of $35–45 million, it’s one Lee’s most expensive films. Netflix released it back on June 12, 2020.
