Director’s Statement:
And THAT IS A WRAP ON The Dark Offerings, the FIRST Socially distant Horror Feature shot COMPLETELY during quarantine and abiding by all social distancing guidelines! What an absolute thrill ride this has been and such a mesmerizing experience. We have to thank our AMAZING cast and crew who have gone above and BEYOND to ensure this film can be all it can be. The cast poured their heart and souls and delivered gut-wrenching, honest, and truly spectacular performances that I feel will resonate in this film. Thank you all for being a part of this film, we are truly honored to have worked with you all on this.
We snapped this behind the scenes pic as we wrapped of how much blood has poured onto the ground and really can’t wait for the gorehounds to see them. The set WAS COVERED in blood but it all came out instantly using Cine Blood: Type O which truly comes out of everything (and yes, we put it to the test).
As a director, I am astounded and beyond proud of the work we all did this past month on this film. I got to work with people I adore working with as well as horror icon’s who I’ve respected and grown up watching since I was young. Even getting a surprise horror cameo that has YET to be announced. All of this spawned from the script that I wrote with Elizabeth Piper who has always been a huge part of any film I make. I truly believe we tapped into some deep shit that resonates in the dialogue and characters and there is nobody on this planet I’d rather be stuck writing a horror script during a pandemic with more than her. Pushing each other to do more and delve deeper than we wanted. We complement each other’s strengths and weaknesses during the writing process and were able to write the entire feature film in 2 weeks with several drafts and when we finally finished, we both knew we had something great. Not only was she a wonderful co-writer, but she also did a phenomenal job starring and doing special effects!
We now go into post but are taking a day to breathe and catch our breaths. The Dark Offerings means the world to us, the press that it’s gotten and the people who have reached out and supported have warmed our hearts beyond belief. Congratulations to everyone involved with the movie and to all the horror publications that helped us spread the word about the film! We can not wait for you all to see this!
